SHEIN Plus Self Belted Gingham Cami Dress
I SO couldn't wait to try on this cutie-patootie black and white gingham pattern dress! It cinches in right at the waist. I knew the bust area was probably going to be an issue, but I think it can be stitched right where the crisscross meets for a more modest look. The spaghetti straps are adjustable, so that will help pull it up a bit, too. I'm absolutely a sucker for the babydoll style top or dress. The fabric is a linen type feel. It's not too thick, not too thin. It's not see-through, which is awesome for a summer dress. You don't feel like you have to wear something underneath. I got this in a 3X. I love it! (I LOVE this print if you haven't noticed LOL). The cutest part about this dress is the matching tie that goes around the waist. You can wear it in the middle or off to the side. Either way, STOP! It's adorable!
SHEIN Plus Wide Waist Houndstooth Leggings
Check out these super fun plaid leggings from SHEIN. They're super high-waisted. They have this kind of wide elastic band with some button detail that really are just there for decoration. Not sure why you would you need these. I personally would never wear a crop top with tight leggings...or maybe YET? If you're all about this look...YOU GO, GIRL! The only thing I'm not super sure about is the fabric. It's not what I would consider the typical legging material. It's more of a crinkly type fabric, a little more on the polyester-y side, not so much the cotton-y side. But they're really, really super stretchy. I did order these in a 4X, which is totally the wrong size. I have a tendency at the last minute to order the next size up for fear of something being too tight or too small. That feeling for me at this moment has a negative impact for me mentally. It's something I'm working on, learning to embrace all that is me including whatever size clothes that is.
SHEIN Plus Elastic Waist Patchwork Print Leggings
Okay, these next pair of leggings...seriously STOP! I saw these and I HAD TO HAVE THEM IN MY LIFE. I, once again, ordered them too big, but let's move past that because, hello, patchwork print!! These instantly give me a comfortable, home-y vibe, like a comfy patchwork quilt. They tend more towards the cotton feel and are softer than the plaid leggings. They are very stretchy and thinner than the plaid leggings, also, without being see-through. They go pretty high up on the waist. These are so totally me! I'll be ordering them in a smaller size because they are so dang cute!
SHEIN Plus Contrast Binding Gingham Dolphin Shorts
Let's talk shorts. Shorts and I haven't really mingled too much in the recent years. Self-consciousness and lack of confidence had gotten the better of me, so I shied away from them. NOT ANYMORE! Bring them on, especially ones that are black and white AND gingham print! These shorts are really stretchy in the waist. The fabric is soft. I ordered these in a 4XL, but had a valid reason this time (more than just thinking they would be too tight in a smaller size, I promise). The style looks like they're supposed to be more of a "bootie shorts" type of fit, which isn't really my thing. Once again, if it's your thing, YOU GO, GIRL! I wanted as much length as I could get. They definitely have a lot of extra room in the legs, but I'll deal with that to have a little more coverage. Look out, summer! I'm so living in these!
Plus Twist Hem Marled Knit Dress
If you struggle with finding plus size tops long enough to comfortably wear over leggings, you might be into this trend of wearing short dresses over tight leggings. I'm loving it. I saw this pink t-shirt dress and had to try it. I was not thrilled when I tried it on and the first thing I felt was a bathing suit type material. On top of that, it's super see-through. The style is more "body con" so wearing something under it, in my opinion, wouldn't work out so well. The one good thing I can say about it is the V neck doesn't plunge way too low like a lot of them tend to do for me. This dress is disappointing on so many levels.
Plus Solid Knotted Skinny Leggings
When I saw these black leggings, they caught my eye based on the tie detail at the bottom. Black pants can be boring to buy sometimes, right? Then they showed up and I took them out of the bag. Yikes. More shiny, polyester-y bathing suit type material. Not a fan. They go high up, again, which is nice. The tie detail is cute but not when they are AT LEAST one size too big.
Plus Butterfly Print Slim Fit Leggings
Butterflies are SO my thing right now, so when I saw these black leggings with brightly colored beauties on them, I had to try them on! Once again, to my disappointment, the material is not great. I ordered them too big, again in a 4X. I like that they go up high on the waist. The black color is off. I have them on with a black shirt and you can see that against real black, they look more gray-ish. Bummer. Super cute butterflies, not so super cute fabric or size.
